Paediatric Allergy And Rhinitis

The main cause of Snoring in children is caused by a blocked nose (rhinitis) or Large adenoids and tonsils.

 

Adenoids is situated at the back of the nose while tonsils are at the back of the throat. Enlargement of the adenoids and or tonsils results in problem of breathing and snoring. If your child has significant persistent snoring, restless sleep and choking episodes during sleep, the child should be brought  to see Paediatric ENT Specialist for assessment.

Paediatric Tonsillitis

 

The tonsils can suffer from recurrent or persistent tonsil infection. This is referred to as acute tonsillitis or chronic tonsillitis.

 

The Paediatric ENT Specialist will assess the child and usually treats the child conservatively with medication and preventive measures. Only if persistent or recurring tonsillitis is Tonsillectomy or removal of the tonsils required.
