Coblation Tongue Base Channelling

Airway obstruction from the posterior collapse of the tongue has been implicated in many patients especially those that had failed other upper airway surgery. In the past operating in this area has been difficult due to its location and narrow space.

Reduction of the tongue base has been achieve with little morbidity using coblation channelling techniques. The coblation wand is introduce in carefully placed location in the tongue base. This will lead over time to cause reduction in the the size of tongue. This represent an effective , safe and tolerable technique for surgery to the tongue base.
